Description - McKinley Alumni Performing Arts Fundraiser
Main | Description
The first ever Performing Arts Fundraiser (fomerly known as the Alumni Association Karaoke Challenge) was held on Saturday, April 27, 2002.
If you like food, fellowship, music, entertainment, door prizes, trivia games, group singing, making new friends and seeing old ones, you'll enjoy this event. The event consists of two parts: a bento dinner at the school cafeteria and the main show in the school auditorium.
The idea to have such an event was born sometime in 2001 and the idea gained momentum as more and more members of various classes volunteered to serve on the steering committee to plan and organize the activity. Although the basis for the activity was a karaoke competition, the intention was, from the outset, to create a fun-filled activity for everyone who attended the show, singers and audience alike. From all indications during and after the show, it seems that this objective was met.
We feature alumni and non-alumni in a series of musical numbers (singing, dancing, instrumental, comedy, and acting) and perform in the ageless McKinley auditorium.
Proceeds, after expenses, are used to fund various McKinley High School programs. So please come out to support all the talent that graduated from our wonderful school and at the same time to support the schools current programs.
